Bollinger Setup
Bollinger Setup indicator is design to reveal strong trade entries in overbought and oversold territory. We set the upper and lower Bollinger Bands as 2 standard deviations +/- from a 25-day Simple Moving Average (which is the center line).
Important to know that 90-95% of the time the market moves between the upper and lower band or let’s say it is ranging in the channel between the bands.
Those 5-10% give us great trading opportunities!
For even higher accuracy of our Bollinger Setups we have added additional conditions to recognize only strong entry points:
- Bullish/Bearish Trend (50 EMA is above/below 200 EMA) – this confirms the trend
- Candle Close above/below upper/lower Bollinger Band – previous candle close should be in opposite to the trend direction (in downtrend we are looking for Candle Close Above Upper Bollinger Band)
- RSI near or in oversold/overbought territory– this condition confirms only strong signals
- Side trend, trend reversal and low volume elimination conditions
